Route description
This tour starts at the mountain station of the Kanzel chairlift (2,348 m). Head past the surface lift hut and keep following the gentle incline of the western slope until you reach the right-hand side of the rockfall. The Düsseldorfer Hütte mountain hut is located above this at 2,721 m.
Departing from the hut, the route leads slightly down into the hollow and then bears right past two rock pools on its way up to the ridge. Keep going along this ridge, heading down slightly and then continuing as far as the next ridge on the left-hand side. After you cross this second ridge and subsequently come to a wooden pole, you should head flat along the ridge to the left-hand side of the glacier at 3,000 m. A moderate ascent will then lead you up to the Zayjoch peak at 3,224 m. This is followed by another moderate climb to the right of the Zayjoch, which will bring you to the Kleiner Angelus (3,318 m).
